Day of Mourning - Halifax

11:00ampm-abbreviation am
- 12:00pm
Mardi Avril 28 2015

Venue: Province House

» More information

Join your community at Province House on Tuesday, April 28th at 11:00 am to observe the International Day of Mourning and honour those who have become ill, been injured or have lost their lives while on the job.

The NS Federation of Labour will host a ceremony on the grounds by the plaque that was erected in 2002 beside the maple tree, also planted in 2002. If weather is bad, the ceremony will be held inside. After the speakers, you are invited to lay a wreath on behalf of an organization, family member or friend.

Nova Scotia joins the rest of Canada and more than 80 countries around the world to remember those who have been lost to a workplace tragedy and honor survivors and those who have been affected. The Day of Mourning also offers employers, employees and members of the community the opportunity to publicly renew their commitment to improve health and safety in the workplace.
