H.E. Julio Garmendia, Cuba's Ambassador to Canada, will discuss the current challenges and developments facing and affecting Cuba, especially the meaning of the steps towards establishing full Cuba-U.S. diplomatic relations, and what further obstacles lie in the way of the actual normalization of relations between the two countries.  He will also discuss the significance of the ongoing Cuban economic reforms and the state of Canada-Cuba relations on the 70th anniversary of their establishment in 1945. 
 
This is a free event and is organized & sponsored by the Nova Scotia Cuba Association and Canadian Network On Cuba. Sponsors include  the Dal Dept of Spanish and Latin American Studies,  Dal JRJ Chair of Black Canadian Studies,and the No Harbour For War editorial committee.
