Shadeism: Documentary Screening & Safe-Space Discussion

7:00pm
- 9:00pm
Mercredi Octobre 22 2014

Venue: Dalhousie Student Union
Address: 6136 University Avenue

» More information

Shadeism is a form of intraracial (within race) discrimination. It is a form of prejudice associated with the shade of ones skin tone. Historically, enforced through colonialism, racialized communities have favoured lighter skin tones over those of darker tone. This discrimination exists in many parts of the world to this day.

Shadeism affects people of Aboriginal, African, Caribbean, Middle Eastern, South Asian, & South-East Asian communities.

Come join us for the short-documentary screening of 'Shadeism'. We will also be providing a safe space where people can participate in an open discussion to share thoughts, opinions, and experiences
