Metro Housing tenants take action against cockroach infestation

1:00pm
- 2:00pm
Mardi Septembre 2 2014

Venue: Joanne Bernard's constituency office
Address: 260 Wyse Rd

Metro Housing has been in the news a lot the last year and unfortunately for tenants, it hasn't been because of its stellar properties.

As reported on CTV News on Friday, tenants of 101 Nova Court in Dartmouth have been dealing with infestation levels of bedbugs and cockroaches. The response from Metro Housing management is a continuation of years of empty promises about improving the premises. Tenants are saying enough is enough.

A Cockroach picket will be held 1pm, Tuesday, September 2 outside Joanne Bernard's constituent office at 260 Wyse Rd. Bernard is the area's MLA as well as being the Minister in charge of Metro Housing. Members are demanding she intervene.

ACORN members are asking for support from the community. Anyone who can is asked to attend the picket and lend their voice for justice for the tenants at 101 Nova Court.
