Building a caring, resilient, loving queer community is a big task, but we're up to it... together.

WORKSHOPS!

2-3pm Mindfulness Meditation
We'll start with a discussion about the basics and benefits of mindfulness meditation and a short guided practice. Beginner or long-time meditators are all welcome, cushions and chairs will be provided.

3-4pm Non-Violent Communication
It can be tricky to share our feelings and ask for what we need, especially when emotions flare and we feel defensive! NVC is a practical tool which can help us express and assert ourselves in a way that actively provides space for the perspectives, boundaries and needs of all involved.

4-6pm Empathetic Listening
Empathetic listening is more than just hearing someone, it is actively working to understand their unique point of view and then showing them that we do understand; it is to empower others by actively validating their personal experience. We can break down walls and open doors to authentic connection by using empathetic listening.

6-7pm Food, provided by Food Not Bombs
Delicious grub and snacks generously provided by Food Not Bombs!
