'Circle of Hope' tribute to missing and/or murdered Aboriginal Women

7:00pm
- 8:30pm
Mardi Juillet 15 2014

Venue: Grand Parade

As part of the upcoming Assembly of First Nations' annual general assembly, Halifax July 13-17, the Regional Host committee, working in conjunction with the Mi'kmaw Native Friendship Centre and the Native Women's Association of Canada, is seeking to determine preliminary interest from those who would like to volunteer as part of a moving 'Circle of Hope' tribute to missing and/or murdered Aboriginal Women, Halifax Grand Parade, 7 pm, Tuesday, July 15.

Participants in the Circle of Hope commit to honouring  the spirit and memory of Aboriginal women who have gone missing or who have been murdered, and will be part of the Grand Entry and opening ceremonies marking an evening in celebration of Mi'kmaw culture and pride.

While it is our intent to involve as many women as possible in this moving ceremony, space is limited and it may be not be possible to accommodate everyone in the Grand Entry or Circle of Hope. However, please know there is plenty of room for everyone who wishes to attend the event on Grand Parade and to honour the spirits of missing and/or murdered Aboriginal women.

If you believe you will be in Halifax at this time and can commit to participating in the Circle of Hope tribute, please let me know eisandeb@gmail.com  and your name will be forwarded to the Host Organizing Committee.
