Rally in Support of Continued Door-to-Door Delivery by Canada Post

5:00pm
- 6:00pm
Mardi Juin 24 2014

Venue: Grand Parade

CUPW-Nova Local has been told that we cannot make a presentation to HRM Council on the announced service cuts and postage rate hikes because they are not "within the jurisdiction of the Municipality".  This despite a list longer than my arm of municipalities across this province and around the country that have allowed CUPW Locals to make presentations to their Councils and passed resolutions supporting the SAVE CANADA POST campaign.  The Local has just under 2000 signatures on petitions calling on Mayor Savage to write to Lisa Raitt and demand the changes be reversed because Savage told the Local in January that the changes couldn't be much of an issue because he hadn't received one complaint from any resident.
