The Canada Research Chair in Contemporary Film and Media Studies at NSCAD University in partnership with DOC-Atlantic (The Documentary Organization of Canada, Atlantic Chapter), Carbon Arc Cinema and with the support of Eyesteel Films is proud to present a special screening of "pilgrIMAGE", Wintonick’s funny and deeply personal road trip into the history of cinema and the meaning of media.

Peter Wintonick, who died on November 18th of a recently diagnosed and rare form of liver cancer, was known as Canada’s “international ambassador to documentary” for his titanic commitment to the medium and his global engagement with new generations of filmmakers. He was a friend and mentor to everyone in the documentary filmmaking community and had influence on hundreds of films—based in Montreal, he was truly a citizen of the world and a friend to many in the Halifax film community. His most famous production, co-directed with Mark Achbar, is Manufacturing Consent: Noam Chomsky and the Media, recently released in a 15th anniversary special edition.

All proceeds to fund outstanding medical expenses and the completion of Peter’s final film, called "Be Here Now".
