Halifactivists:

As part of this year’s Rad Frosh, we are organizing an Activist Café to introduce newcomers to all the different kinds of amazing organizing work that’s going on around the HRM. It can be hard to know where to start when you first arrive here, so we’re aiming to get a wide variety of people together to share knowledge and opportunities. Whether your thing is community gardens, queer liberation, anti-racism, mental health support, body positivity, unionizing, or anything else under the sun, people want to know about it!

The idea is simple: come talk about your activist work or the work your organization does for two minutes, then make yourself available to chat with anyone who’s interested. If you want to attend but don’t want to speak to a crowd, you are more than welcome to come and mingle. Either way, bringing materials for people to take home is highly encouraged.

This event will take place on Sunday, September 22nd, between 4pm and 6pm, at the Good Food Emporium on Windsor street and will be wheelchair accessible for the event (a ramp has been built for the occasion!).

Organizer: If you are interested in participating, please contact or Jude Ashburn (Rad Frosh 2013 Coordinator) at radfrosh@nspirg.ca, or Jacqueline Vincent at jacqueline.vincent@gmail.com.
