Award-winning author Michael Harris (Rare Ambition: The Crosbies of Newfoundland; Unholy Orders: Tragedy at Mount Cashel; Lament for an Ocean: The Collapse of the Atlantic Cod Fishery; Justice Denied: The Law Versus Donald Marshall) has turned his renowned skills of investigative journalism to the state of Canada's parliamentary democracy. Drawing on the knowledge of Canada's most senior parliamentary officers and some of the sharpest minds in the country, Mr. Harris will present the facts about what the current Prime Minister has done to parliamentary traditions and political freedoms in Canada. "It is a devastating list," says Mr. Harris. "Anyone who cares about our parliamentary democracy needs to be very concerned." The South Shore Council of Canadians is honoured to have Mr. Harris deliver the final Café Canada presentation in our series Democracy in Action. Friday, May 17, 7:30 pm, Lunenburg Fire Hall, 25 Medway Street, Lunenburg. For more information call 527-2928 orsouthshore.coc@gmail.com All welcome.
