The Maritime Centre for African Dance will be holding an Entrepreneurship workshop that is being held on Thursday November 29 from 12-2 p.m.
Our entrepreneur workshop will be held by Mufaro Chakabuda. Mufaro herself is an entrepreneur, she started MCAD back in 2005 and started with $20 and with no funding. Her business now reaches coast to coast, and her dance troupe was the only Canadian dance troupe invited to Obama's inauguration ball to perform.
During this workshop she will tell her story of creating a business. She will discuss what entrepreneurship is and how to get started. There will also be information on government resources and how to get funding. In the second part of the workshop students will get to demonstrate their entrepreneurial skills by making a business idea into a plan. There will be a panel of 3 professionals to evaluate each groups' plan and there will be a prize for the winner.
