Join the Halifax-Dartmouth and District Labour Council, affiliate unions, social justice organizations & more, for the 2012 Labour Day March, Rally, Free Community BBQ Picnic and Music Concert on Monday, September 3rd, 2012.
10:00am — Gather with Sisters & Brothers from unions & community organizations at the VICTORIA PARK (Spring Garden Road at South Park Street, Halifax, Nova Scotia). Union Locals are strongly encouraged to bring union flags & banners to Victoria Park for the March. There will be brief speeches from various provincial labour union leaders prior to departing for the March at 11:00am.

This will be the second year that the Labour Day March will begin at Victoria Park before moving to the South Commons Triangle — please ensure to advise union members, Locals & interested organizations/individuals of this change for this year!
11:00am — Labour Day Parade March starting at the VICTORIA PARK (Spring Garden Road and South Park St.) and marching to the South Commons Triangle, Bell Road, Halifax (bring your union’s flag and/or banner!)
12:00pm to 3:00pm — Labour Day Rally, Free Community BBQ Picnic & Music Concertat the South Commons Triangle (see Map Link for directions to the Halifax South Commons Triangle) with fun for the kids! Speeches including Nova Scotia Premier Darrell Dexter, Nova Scotia Federation of Labour President Rick Clarke, Halifax Member of Parliament (MP) Megan Leslie and Halifax-Dartmouth & District Labour Council President Kyle Buott. Musical entertainment by Joe Murphy & the Water Street Blues Band. Please see MAP LINK for location of the South Commons Triangle Park.
