On Saturday, July 7 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. come Discover Culture at the Museum! Take part in our hands-on workshop to learn the basics of Lebanese Folk Dance and watch a demonstration. This workshop is free and open to all ages. It is led by Tony Nahas, a dance instructor who has taught and performed this style of dance all over the world.

This Discover Culture workshop, presented in English, is part of our summer programming offered in conjunction with the Shaping Canada: Exploring Our Cultural Landscapes exhibition on display in the Ralph and Rose Chiodo Harbourside Gallery. Be sure to explore the exhibition, which cites the importance of kinship ties within the Halifax Lebanese community, and makes use of case studies from across Canada to highlight key themes such as family, faith, food, recreation and neighbourhood.
