About 200 people from across the province rallied in Halifax this afternoon, demanding access to midwifery services. The province’s current legislation limits the number of midwives that can legally practice in N.S, and confines midwives to three ‘model sites’ chosen by the province.

The Roots of Rage

Halifax doesn’t feel like a violent city. In fact, walking down North Street past jellybean-coloured houses and a view of the harbour, you can even hear birds chirping. But this is the same city—the same area of the same city—where seven violent attacks stunned Haligonians over Labour Day weekend.
