NSPIRG volunteer gathering

Get involved in social and environmental justice on and off campus

12:00pm
Thursday January 15 2009

Venue: NSPIRG office
Address: Room 314 Dalhousie SUB, 6136 University Ave
Cost: free

Hello everyone,

Hope everyone had a great break!

This is an invite to all those who are interested in volunteering for
various NSPIRG activities to come to the NSPIRG office, room 314 of
the Student Union Building.

DATE and TIME - Thurs. Jan 15, noon - 4pm. Come in at any time, and
leave when you need to.

There will be food, coffee and tea! Bring any interested friends.

If you can't make it, just drop by our office at another time, when
convenient. Our hours are 10:30 - 4:30 from Mon - Fri. Give us a call
or email to arrange a meeting - 494 - 6662, angela@nspirg.org,
asaf@nspirg.org....or just surpirze us.

We're moving beyond last term, where we were unfortunately
pre-occupied way too much with responding to the DSU's challenges to
our ratification, as some are probably well aware of. This term, we're
hoping to be very active on many subjects and actions:

- challenging Sodexo and Aramark and helping support student-run food
alternatives on campus
- challenging military research, influence over the curriculum and
recruitment on campus
- challenging corporate control and influence on campus
- lots of info distribution on social and environmental justice news
and information around campus, including an online and possible paper
publication.
- publishing and distributing research
- Organizing info sessions and workshops to help spur on student activism.
- helping expand the outreach and action of working groups
- increasing the impact of our campaigns

And so much more!

Please do come down and be part of our community!
