RAE'S AWARENESS - 3rd Annual Memorial Walk
Don't Take Advantage – Get Me Home!

Halifax, NS, Tuesday, April 5, 2016: The Rehtaeh Parsons Society will be hosting the 3rd Annual Memorial Walk to 'Rae's Awareness' on April 9th, 2016.

Events for the 3rd Annual Memorial Walk will take place in Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia, on Saturday April 9th, starting at 1pm at the Wesleyan Church , located at 80 Chameau Crescent. The walk will begin at 1pm leaving from the church to Cole Harbour Rd, to Caldwell Rd, returning to Forrest Hills Parkway and 80 Chameau Crescent.

Refreshments, discussion and performances from Adam Baldwin, Stef Benac and Andre Lucas Fenton are scheduled from 2 – 3:30pm, and premiering in Nova Scotia, a screening of UnSlut – A Documentary Film will begin at 4pm. We are happy to have film maker Emily Lindin attending the event and holding a discussion after the film.

Individual walkers are welcome, as well as participants are encouraged to put a team together, gather pledges, and register at the event, as there will be some great prizes drawn throughout the day. Walkers will also be asked to participate in a community promise, and will be given painted stones with messages of hope, to place at the base of a tree midway along the route, as a gesture of change and community unity.

All proceeds of this event go to the Rehtaeh Parsons Society, a non profit society that provides education, awareness and advocacy for issues of sexualized violence, cyber-harassment, suicide prevention and well-being.

Information for the event can be found on it's Facebook Event page. Please come out and join us and 'Rae's Awareness!'
