KJIPUKTUK (Halifax) – In solidarity with what will likely be the largest climate rally in Canadian history, local groups and individuals are hosting a march to call on Premier McNeil to attend the climate summit and show provincial leadership on climate change.

WHO:  A coalition 12 environmental & social justice organizations and 500+ individuals coming together under the banner of Climate Action Halifax. Everyone is welcome!

WHAT: A family-friendly march and rally, with speakers;

Annie Clair - Mi'kmaq Land Defender

Kyle Buott - Solidarity Halifax

Margaret Anne MCHughe - Halifax Dartmouth District Labour Council

Meredith Bessey - Stop the Energy East Pipeline (SEEP) Halifax

Tom Duck - Atmospheric Scientist & Dalhousie Professor

Valerie Hawks - Stop Alton Gas

WHEN: Saturday, April 11th at 1pm AT

WHERE: the event will start at Victoria Park, and then march through main streets of Halifax to finish up at Grand Parade

WHY: Climate is the focus of the Council of the Federation meetings in Quebec City this coming week, and Premier McNeil is not even attending the meetings in person, giving the impression that the climate is not a priority for this government.
