Rain Garden Site Assessment Workshop

6:00pm
- 8:00pm
Monday July 7 2014

Venue: 21 Plateau Crescent

» More information

Stormwater flows on your property getting you down? Come learn how to assess your property for stormwater flows and rain garden design. Rain gardens are slight depressions in the ground which are planted with native, water loving plants. In the right place, rain gardens will slow the stormwater flow, help spread it around, and help it sink into the ground, where it is filtered by the soil and infiltrates into the groundwater. At this hands-on workshop, we will learn about site assessment steps for designing a rain garden, including placement, sizing calculations, soil infiltration tests, and slope measurement, by doing the steps together on a real rain garden project site. If you need to see and do in order to learn, this one's for you! Hope you can join us! Please RSVP to Emily at coastaloutreach@ecologyaction.ca. Call or email with questions. 442-5046
