Solidarity with Pictou Landing First Nation

12:00pm
- 1:00pm
Friday June 13 2014

Venue: Victoria Park
Address: South Park and Spring Garden

» More information

This action is being held in solidarity with the blockade of Northern Pulp mill by Pictou Landing First Nation. The blockade started yesterday, after the mill was shut down because of a pipe burst that was leaking effluent into Pictou Harbour. The broken pipe is near a Mi'kmaq burial site, and it is integral that they are consulted with before any kind of excavation happens there. This mill has been polluting their water for decades.

Please feel free to come to NSPIRG (rm. 314 of the SUB) anytime after 10 to help us make signs. We will then be walking down to Victoria Park (around 11:30) to show folks that we stand in solidarity with Pictou Landing First Nation!
