Joanna Kerr, Director of Policy and Outreach for Oxfam Canada, will be visiting Halifax and giving a public lecture at Saint Mary’s
University, titled: The Burden of Climate Change on Women: Where are Women’s Rights and Economic Justice in the Solutions?

Joanna is a dynamic speaker and one of Canada’s foremost feminists. Joanna has had a lifetime of involvement in the global movement for women’s rights. Prior to her moving into her current position with Oxfam, Joanna was Executive Director of the Association for Women's Rights in Development (AWID), a premier
international women’s entity which she transformed into a leading
multi-generational global women’s organization. Joanna’s presentation in Halifax coincides with the recent launch of Oxfam’s National Campaign – Stop Harming, Start Helping: Women’s Rights and Climate Change.

The presentation is co-sponsored by the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Public Affairs.
